Five Acres

It's the sort of stop you'd slot into a wider day - worthwhile if you're already in the Pevensey area, perhaps combining it with Pevensey Bay Holiday Park a couple of miles south, or pushing on to Warren Wood Country Park if you've got more time and want something with proper facilities. Allow an hour minimum, longer if you're actually trying to identify birds rather than just wandering about.

Going early morning gives you better wildlife viewing, though honestly any time works if the weather's decent. It's free and accessible, which keeps things simple. Not a headline attraction in itself, but exactly the kind of green space that makes a holiday in East Sussex feel properly outdoorsy rather than just beach-focused.
