It's a modest forest tucked inland from Skegness, nothing grand, but absolutely worth the drive if you're staying at one of the local caravan parks like The Nurseries.

What you've actually got here is a working woodland that's been left fairly wild. There are paths threading through, though they're not manicured resort-style trails - they're the real thing, muddy after rain, overgrown in places. Spot for spotting woodpeckers if you're patient. The fishponds themselves are more functional than scenic, old water management features that attract waterfowl rather than serve as Instagram backdrops.

This is proper rambler territory rather than family entertainment. Kids will get bored within an hour unless they're the type who genuinely enjoy poking about in undergrowth looking for wildlife. Older walkers and bird enthusiasts will spend a good afternoon here. The whole thing feels refreshingly unpretentious - no visitor centre, no cafe, no interpretive boards telling you what trees are.
