Fishing pond

The fishing pond sits quietly on the Norfolk outskirts, just east of Attleborough - the sort of place locals know about but tourists walk past without noticing. It's genuinely peaceful. You get a decent stretch of water, mature trees along the banks, and the kind of stillness that makes you remember why you came to Norfolk in the first place.

It's a working fishing spot, so expect to see anglers with their kit set up for the day. But it's not crowded or fussy about it - the whole atmosphere is low-key and welcoming. The walk around the pond takes maybe twenty minutes if you're in no rush, which you won't be. Good for families with kids who can amuse themselves by the water, though they'll lose interest faster than a proper lake might hold them.

Since it's a pond rather than a major attraction, there's no visitor infrastructure to speak of - no café, no facilities that I could find. Best to treat it as part of a bigger Norfolk ramble rather than a destination in itself. If you're staying at one of the local glamping spots like Glamp & Tipple, which sits about five miles away, this could be a gentle morning wander before heading somewhere with more going on.

Worth a detour if you're in the area and need an hour's quiet time. Not worth planning a trip around, but the sort of place that reminds you there's more to Norfolk than the coast.
