Eynesbury Bridge

The bridge itself is medieval - a proper stone structure that's been handling traffic across the Great Ouse for centuries. You're looking at low arches, weathered stonework, and the kind of engineering that makes you think about how many footsteps have crossed it since the 1400s.

There's not a visitor centre or café here. This is a spot you walk to, look at, maybe photograph if the light's right, and move on. The real appeal is straightforward: it's genuinely old, genuinely interesting to look at, and it sits right next to St. Neots, which is actually a proper town with independent shops and decent pubs if you need somewhere to settle afterwards.

Give it twenty minutes. Maybe half an hour if you're into medieval architecture or want to sketch it. Kids won't spend long here unless they're the type who get excited about old things - it's not interactive, there's no play area, no riverside walk attached that I could find. That said, if you're based at St. Neots Camping and Caravanning Club Site or Cambridgeshire Lakes, it's worth the short detour. Free to visit, obviously.

The bridge works best if you combine it with exploring St. Neots itself rather than making it a destination in isolation. The surrounding countryside is pleasant enough for a walk, and the proximity to Grafham Water means you could do this as part of a wider afternoon loop if you're staying at one of the nearby parks.
