Esholt Woods

The woodland walk through Esholt is one of those places that sneaks up on you. You're barely ten minutes from Shipley, yet it feels properly removed from all that. Ancient trees tower overhead, the kind that have been standing for centuries, and the paths - well, they wind about in that chaotic way that suggests nobody's been too keen on straightening them out.

It's a straightforward nature reserve, nothing fancy. You get woodland, a beck running through it, and if you're lucky, you'll spot something decent wildlife-wise. Walkers absolutely love it here. The paths are manageable without being boring, and there's enough variation to keep you moving for a good hour or two without feeling like you're going in circles.
