English Heritage - Binham Market Cross

Standing in the middle of Binham village, just east of Fakenham, is a medieval market cross that's quietly impressive if you know what you're looking at. This is one of Norfolk's better-preserved examples - a proper fifteenth-century stone structure that once marked the heart of the settlement's trading life. The cross sits at the crossroads where merchants would have hawked their wares, and you can still feel the weight of that history standing beneath it.

It's the sort of thing that rewards a proper look rather than a quick photograph.
