You'll spot the Methodist Church tucked away in Ely's town centre, a solid Victorian building that speaks volumes about the town's nonconformist heritage. It's not the sort of place that dominates the skyline like Ely Cathedral does across the road - far from it - but it's genuinely worth popping inside if you're already wandering around town.

The interior is properly serene. High ceilings, neat pews, and that particular hush you only get in Methodist chapels. There's real craftsmanship in the woodwork and stained glass, though it's understated compared to the Gothic drama of the Cathedral. You can spend twenty minutes here comfortably, or longer if you're into Victorian architecture and the social history of how ordinary folk worshipped in the nineteenth century.

It's free to visit, though opening hours can be a bit vague - your best bet is calling ahead or checking during your stay at one of the nearby caravan sites. Families with older children will get more from it than toddlers, but it's a peaceful five-minute breather in a day spent exploring Ely's Cathedral and market square.
