There's something rather special about stumbling upon a Game of Thrones filming location that isn't mobbed with tour groups. Ser Arlan's Cottage, used during the Dunk and Egg scenes, sits quietly near Ballymena - it's the sort of spot that rewards visitors who've actually read the books or binged the show rather than just wandering about hoping something looks familiar.

What you're looking at is a proper working farmstead, not some theme park reconstruction. The cottage itself is modest - whitewashed stone, weathered by years of actual farming rather than painted for the cameras. You'll recognise it immediately if you know those scenes: this is where the hedge knight and his young squire took shelter. The surrounding land is ordinary enough - fields, trees, nothing that screams "visit me" - but that's rather the point. It feels authentic because it is.

Expect about twenty minutes here, maybe thirty if you're the type who likes to sit and soak in the moment. Families with Game of Thrones obsessives will get genuine excitement from it; casual visitors might find it a bit underwhelming without the back story. There's no visitor centre or facilities, so it's very much a drive-by or quick walk affair.
