About Duckhill Dog Park
The park does what it says on the tin. Dogs come here, they run, they play, owners stand about chatting. It's functional rather than fancy - no agility equipment, no water features, just space to let them off the lead without worrying they'll bolt into traffic. The ground gets muddy after rain, which is brilliant if your dog's already covered in dirt and terrible if you've just groomed them.
Really only makes sense if you're travelling with a dog. Solo walkers and families without pets won't find anything here to detain them. That said, if you're based at one of the nearby glamping spots for the weekend, this takes the edge off an anxious dog for twenty minutes flat. Go mid-morning or late afternoon to avoid the school-run crowd if you can. It costs nothing, there's no formal opening hours posted anywhere, and you'll want to bring poo bags - lots of them.
