It's not a destination in itself, mind you. But if you're based at Kingsdown Camping and the weather turns properly grim, or if you've got a rainy afternoon between coastal walks, it's worth an hour. Families with older kids might find the local history section genuinely useful - beats explaining the Dunkirk evacuation from memory. Younger children will likely lose interest fast unless they're keen readers.

The location works well for a broader Kent park holiday. You're close enough to Dover town to pop in between seaside time and longer explorations further afield.
