Dog Pond

Water stretches out calm and flat, ringed by trees that lean towards their own reflections. Dog Pond sits just outside Beverley, a working landscape pond that's genuinely peaceful without trying to be. It's the sort of place you'd stumble upon by accident and then come back to deliberately.

The main draw is straightforward - it's a proper spot for a walk, especially if you've got a dog in tow. The name's literal enough. Paths run around the water's edge, and you can stand and watch for fish or just listen to whatever birds are about. Nothing dramatic happens here, which is rather the point. You won't find visitor facilities or cafes, and that keeps it quiet.

Walkers will get the most from it, particularly those staying at nearby Butt Farm Caravan, Campsite & Glamping or Cherry Burton Leisure Park, both within a couple of miles. It's an easy leg-stretch between other things rather than a destination in itself - allow 30 to 45 minutes depending on pace. The better weather months suit it best; there's no shelter to speak of.
