There's a reason locals keep Dock Beach quiet. It's not your typical theme park - more a clever bit of reimagined waterfront that actually works, tucked away from the chaos of central London's tourist traps. The Thames-side setting gives it character that most theme parks lack entirely.

You're getting water rides, decent attractions, and the sort of carnival atmosphere that doesn't require you to queue for three hours before lunch. Fair warning: it's nowhere near the scale of Thorpe Park, but that's rather the point. Families with younger kids thrive here because nothing feels overwhelming, and teenagers who've outgrown the inflatable castle phase won't find it embarrassing.

The actual beach section is the standout - proper seaside vibe despite London being nowhere near the sea. Paddling, sand activities, and you can actually hear yourself think between rides. There's food scattered about, though do expect theme park pricing.

If you're staying at Abbey Wood Experience Freedom Glamping just down the road, you could knock this out in an afternoon without burning yourself out. Three to four hours is realistic unless you're chasing every single attraction. Summer weekends get rammed; off-season visits are far more pleasant.
