The car park at Dinton Pastures does exactly what it says on the tin - it's a proper functional car park serving the country park just outside Wokingham. Not exactly thrilling in itself, but it's your jumping-off point for one of the area's better green spaces, and that's where the value lies.

Dinton Pastures itself is a 65-hectare country park with lakes, woodland walks, and open grassland. The car park is free, which is always a plus, and it gives you straightforward access to the whole thing. Once you're out of the tarmac, you've got decent walking routes, bird-watching opportunities if you're into that sort of thing, and somewhere genuinely pleasant to stretch your legs. Families with younger kids will find it manageable - there are easier circuits alongside the water if you're not keen on proper hikes.

If you're based at California Chalet & Touring Park or Scotlands House Campsite nearby, Dinton Pastures makes an obvious day out. The park itself fills a good two to three hours depending on which path you take. Summer weekends get busy, so an early start pays off if you want some peace.

This won't be the highlight of your trip, but it's solid outdoor space without any faffing about. The car park access is straightforward, parking's free, and once you're through those gates, you've got proper countryside within spitting distance of town.
