Dark Revolution

Dark Revolution is a proper craft brewery just outside Salisbury, where they take their beer seriously but not themselves. You'll find the usual brewery setup - a working production floor you can actually watch, a tasting room, and a shop stocked with their own bottles and cans. The beers are genuinely good, which makes a difference; these aren't gimmick brews, they're the kind of thing you'll want to take back to your caravan.

It's ideal if you're into craft beer, obviously. Beer geeks will spend a couple of hours here without trouble. But it's also decent for families outside school holidays - kids can run about while you sample a few pints, and most decent breweries have food or let you bring your own. Check their website for the current opening hours and whether there's an entry fee, as these things vary.

If you're camped at Salisbury Camping and Caravanning Club Site just 1.2 miles away, or staying at Bake Farm or Coombe further out, Dark Revolution makes for an easy evening trip. Combine it with a walk into Salisbury town centre - the cathedral is genuinely worth an hour - and you've got yourself a proper day. The South West has no shortage of breweries, but this one's worth stopping by if you're in the area. Not a detour-just-for-this type of place, but absolutely worth the fifteen-minute drive if you're already camping locally.
