Curlew Gallery

The Curlew Gallery sits in Brecon, a market town that feels properly Welsh without the tourist overload. It's a working visual arts space - think contemporary paintings, sculpture, the sort of thing that gets locals talking over coffee. You won't spend hours here, but that's rather the point. Combine it with a walk up Pen y Fan or a pint in town and you've got a proper morning sorted. Admission details aren't widely published, so ring ahead or ask at the tourist office. Worth checking opening hours too, as smaller galleries can be a bit variable. It's the kind of place that rewards the visitor willing to look beyond the obvious attractions.
