It's worth checking their schedule before you go because you might catch something genuinely brilliant or find the current exhibition simply isn't your cup of tea.

Who gets the most from it? Art types, obviously, but also anyone visiting Sheffield who's tired of the shopping centre shuffle. You're looking at an hour, maybe ninety minutes max, depending on how much you want to absorb. It's free to get in, which is proper refreshing.

If you're camping at Waleswood or Fox Hagg Farm - both solid options just outside the city - this makes a decent half-day sortie into Sheffield. Rother Valley Country Park is closer to nature if you want to balance gallery time with something outdoors, but Cow's worth the short drive from any of them. It's the sort of place that reminds you why cities matter when you're on holiday.
