Corley Rocks

The rocks themselves aren't dramatic - more a modest outcrop than a proper peak - but the views across Warwickshire from up here are genuinely worth the scramble. On a clear day you can see right across the industrial landscape towards Coventry, which sounds unpromising until you realise you're looking at centuries of history sprawled across the Midlands. It's a short walk from Corley village, and the whole thing takes maybe thirty minutes including messing about on top.

This works best for walkers who don't need Instagram-ready drama, and families with kids old enough to enjoy a bit of clambering. The rocks are weathered and a touch slippery when damp, so proper shoes matter. There's no visitor centre, no tea shop, no facilities - it's properly basic, which is either a selling point or a drawback depending on your tolerance for minimal infrastructure.

Stay at Hollyfast Caravan Park just down the road - barely more than a mile away - and you can knock this off as a morning walk before heading elsewhere. Somers Wood is another solid option if Hollyfast's full. The real appeal here is that it's legitimately local, not crowded, and gives you an actual sense of the landscape rather than another manicured viewpoint. Worth including as part of a wider Warwickshire ramble, but don't make it your reason for visiting the area.
