Condie

Condie is essentially a Bronze Age settlement on the outskirts of Perth - the kind of archaeological site that rewards a bit of detective work to find. What you're looking at are the remains of a fortified enclosure from around 1000 BC, marked out by earthwork banks that are still visible if you know where to look. It's not dramatic in the way of Iron Age hillforts, but it's genuinely interesting if you care about how ordinary people lived in Perthshire three millennia ago.

The site itself is fairly low-key - no visitor centre, no interpretation panels, just the landscape and your imagination. Walkers and archaeology enthusiasts will find it worthwhile; young kids might struggle unless they're already into the period. Allow twenty minutes if you're making a dedicated visit, though it works well as part of a longer walk around Perth's surroundings.

You're well placed staying at any of the nearby parks - Maycroft Retreat is barely a mile away, while Greenhill Farm Glamping and Broadslap Farm sit within five miles. This area of Perthshire has plenty of riverside walks along the Tay, and Perth itself is close enough for a proper day out. Condie works best as a detour rather than a destination in itself - the kind of stop you make because you're curious and you've got time. Worth the diversion if you're already exploring the area, less so if you're hunting for obvious must-sees.
