The station sits at the heart of Seaton's tramway operation, all restored Victorian charm and working heritage. It's where you board for the three-mile journey along the Axe Valley to Colyton - a proper throwback experience with open-air cars that rattle through countryside and past the River Axe.

The gift shop stocks the usual suspects: postcards, local crafts, sweets. Nothing fancy, but it's part of the ritual. The ticket office staff actually know what they're talking about, which makes booking the round trip straightforward. Most journeys take around 45 minutes return, though you can hop off at Colyford halfway if the mood takes.

It works best for families with children aged five upwards - younger ones find the noise a bit much on the electric tram. Adults get the nostalgia hit; the engineering detail is proper interesting if you're into that sort of thing. The summer service runs regularly enough that you don't need to plan military-style.
