The Coleraine Campus Trail winds through the University of Ulster's sprawling grounds, a proper walk that takes you past modern buildings, manicured lawns, and the occasional student rushing between lectures. It's essentially a self-guided ramble around an active university campus - nothing flashy, but if you're staying nearby in Bushmills or at Causeway Country Pods, it's a decent way to stretch your legs without committing to anything too demanding.

You'll cover roughly two miles at a leisurely pace, passing through different zones of the campus that show off everything from contemporary architecture to green spaces. The trail itself is clearly marked, and there's something oddly pleasant about walking somewhere purposeful where actual work happens - you feel like you're in a proper place rather than a tourist attraction designed for visitors.

Historically minded walkers will find it less rewarding than nature trails elsewhere on the Causeway Coast, but it works well as a morning activity before heading to Giant's Causeway or exploring Bushmills itself. The whole thing takes about an hour if you meander, less if you keep moving. It's free, which helps, and you won't fight crowds.

Honestly though, unless you're genuinely interested in campus design or need a quick walk between other activities, there are better ways to spend your time in this part of Northern Ireland. It's serviceable rather than special - the kind of thing you'd do if the weather turned dodgy and you wanted to stay active without venturing far from your pod at Causeway Country.
