You won't find manicured paths or visitor centres here. What you get instead is a chance to move slowly through the landscape with binoculars, watching for grebes and warblers depending on the season.

Families with restless children might find it a bit thin on excitement after forty minutes, though if your kids are the patient type who actually want to spot things rather than run around, they'll take to it. The access is straightforward enough, though the ground can be boggy after rain - wellies are a sensible call in autumn and winter.
