Church of the Holy Ghost, Crowcombe

The Church of the Holy Ghost sits in the village of Crowcombe, a couple of miles inland from Holford, and it's one of those Somerset churches that stops you dead when you walk through the door. The interior is properly impressive - soaring wooden roof, intricate carved details, and the kind of light that makes you understand why people bothered building these places in the first place. It's medieval, working, and genuinely worth an hour if you're into church architecture or just want somewhere quiet to sit.

You'll get the most out of this if you're a walker or history type rather than after a quick photo stop. The village itself is small enough that you won't spend long there, but it makes a natural waypoint if you're exploring the Quantocks or heading between Holford and the coastal parks.
