Chediston Community Field

You'll find Chediston Community Field on the outskirts of Halesworth, a proper working nature reserve that locals have clearly invested in. It's not one of those manicured visitor attractions with car parks and tea rooms - this is genuine grassland management where the community actually rolls up its sleeves. Walk the perimeter and you'll spot wildflowers depending on the season, the kind of place where you might catch sight of birds and small mammals if you're patient and quiet.

It appeals most to naturalists, walkers wanting a gentle stroll, and families after something low-key and educational without the admission fees. The site isn't vast - you're looking at an hour maximum to explore properly - but that suits a shorter detour if you're camping nearby at Green Haven or The Croft.
