The library keeps tight hours - Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, Thursday mornings and early evenings - so plan around the schedule. It's the kind of stop you'd make if you're already in Alexandria, not somewhere you'd drive out of your way for. That said, there's something rather nice about it: proper local flavour without the tourist polish. You might find community notices about what's on around the area, which beats scrolling through your phone.

Families with kids will find it quiet, which is either perfect or dull depending on your lot. Walkers passing through the Loch Lomond area between the nearby parks might use it to check weather forecasts before heading out. History types won't find much to grip them. Free admission and decent opening times across the week make it accessible without fuss.

It's not a destination. But if you're based at one of the caravan parks for a few days and the midges are biting, it's a dry spot worth remembering.
