About Brunt Hill
This isn't a tough climb. Most people manage it in under an hour from the car park, and the paths are well-trodden enough that you won't spend half the time wondering if you've gone wrong. The summit itself is modest - moorland and grass rather than anything rocky - but the 360-degree perspective makes it. You get the coast one way, farmland rolling inland the other.
Families with school-age kids will get something out of it, though younger children might find the final push a bit steep. Walkers doing a few Lowland peaks in sequence should absolutely include it. History buffs won't find much to grab onto here - this is about the landscape, not the past.
Timing matters. Morning light is best, and avoid weekends if you want any sense of solitude. The nearest town is Dunbar, just a few miles off, so you could make this part of a wider day - there's decent food in town afterwards. If you're staying at Belhaven Bay Caravan Park down the coast, Brunt Hill makes a straightforward morning's walk before heading back to base.
