Bridge of Oich

The Bridge of Oich is one of those proper Scottish engineering achievements that stops you mid-walk along the Caledonian Canal. This stone arch bridge, built back in 1810, carries the main road across the Oich River just south of Fort Augustus, and it's the kind of structure that makes you understand why the canal mattered so much to Highland life.
