Brasted Hill

The climb up Brasted Hill rewards you with one of Surrey's better viewpoints - assuming the weather cooperates. From the summit, you can see right across the Weald towards Kent, and on a clear day it's genuinely impressive. The walk itself is straightforward, nothing that'll trouble most people, though the final stretch does get a bit steep.

This works best for keen walkers rather than casual strollers. You're looking at roughly an hour up and back depending on your pace. Families with younger kids might find it a bit of a slog for limited payoff - the views are the whole point, and if you're hunting for play areas or cafes, you'll be disappointed.

Warlingham is just nearby, so it slots nicely into a wider exploration of the area. If you're staying at Milberry Green Meadows, which sits a short drive away, this makes a cracking half-morning excursion before heading back for lunch. The holiday park's got space to decompress afterwards.

Go early if you can - the car park fills up at weekends and the view gets genuinely hazy by afternoon in summer. There's no visitor infrastructure up there, so bring water. Free to visit, naturally. On a windy day it can feel properly exposed, so dress for it. Worth the detour if you're in Surrey and the forecast looks decent.
