Brampton Park Golf Club

Brampton Park Golf Club sits just outside Huntingdon, a proper 18-hole course that's been going since 1976. It's the kind of place where the fairways roll through countryside without feeling remote - you're still close enough to nip into town for lunch if needed.

The course itself plays to a decent length and the layout keeps things interesting across both nines. It's well-maintained without being unnecessarily fussy. If you're a golfer staying at one of the nearby caravan parks - Huntingdon Boathaven is literally two miles away, or Grafham Water just three and a half - this makes an obvious stop. It's not a championship layout that'll test your handicap to breaking point, but that's rather the point. It's accessible golf in the middle of countryside you can actually explore.

The Huntingdon area itself has the Great Ouse running through it, so you could easily combine a round with walking or a spot of boating. Pack your clubs if golf matters to your break, but don't feel you've missed out if you give it a miss - there's plenty else around.
