Brampton Park Golf Club

Brampton Park Golf Club sits just outside Huntingdon and is a proper 18-hole course that takes itself seriously without being snobbish about it. The layout winds through decent parkland with enough trees to punish wayward shots but enough open stretches to keep things interesting. It's an members-only affair, so you'll need to get an invite or book through a guest arrangement - ring them on the club number to sort details.

This is strictly for golfers. If you're not swinging clubs, there's not much to do here beyond watching. The course plays to around 6,400 yards depending on tees, so it's not brutally long but demands decent shot-making. Handicap limits apply for visiting golfers, so check before you turn up hoping for a casual round.

If you're staying at one of the caravan parks nearby - Huntingdon Boathaven is barely a mile away, or Wyton Lakes and Grafham Water are within four miles - you could easily fit a round in around a park holiday. Allow four and a half hours minimum for a full game. The course is walkable, which beats paying cart fees. Grafham Water itself is worth a visit separately; it's a proper water sports venue and walking spot that breaks up a golf-focused trip nicely.

Best visited midweek if you can swing it. Weekends get busy and booking becomes trickier. The course is sensible value for member guests, though green fees vary.
