Bramhope Tunnel Memorial

The stone memorial just outside Ilkley marks one of the grimmest chapters in Yorkshire's railway history. Twenty-three workers died when the Bramhope Tunnel collapsed during construction in 1875, and this modest monument sits quietly by the roadside as a reminder of their sacrifice.
