Bournemouth International Church

The International Church sits in central Bournemouth, a few miles south of Christchurch, and it's one of those Victorian buildings you might walk past without a second glance. But step inside and you'll find yourself in a proper Grade I listed space with soaring ceilings and the kind of detail that speaks to actual craftsmanship. The interior is surprisingly ornate for what looks fairly restrained from the street - carved wooden details, stained glass, and an organ that's worth listening out for if there's anyone about.

It's a working church rather than a tourist attraction, so expectations matter here. You're not coming for interactive exhibits or lengthy interpretation boards. What you get is the chance to sit in a well-maintained Victorian interior and absorb a bit of quiet. History enthusiasts will appreciate the architecture and the fact it's survived intact through the decades, though unless you catch a service or event, there's perhaps twenty minutes of wandering about here.
