It's the kind of place that works best on a calm afternoon when the reflections are decent and you're not fighting the wind. Families with young kids will get a solid hour or two out of it - the water's shallow enough to feel safe, and there's something satisfying about having a go at rowing yourself rather than just watching from the bank. Bring bread if you want to feed the ducks, though the local waterfowl are well-fed enough to ignore you.

The lake itself isn't enormous, which is actually fine.
