You're looking at roughly 2,500 years of weather and farming, which has flattened what were once proper defensive structures. The name itself is wonderfully obscure; nobody's entirely sure where it comes from, though local archaeologists have their theories.

Historyfolk will find it worth a visit, especially if you're already exploring the wider Sheffield area. It's free and accessible, though calling it a "site" might oversell what's on offer visually.
