Bland Hill School

You won't find much left of Bland Hill School now - just earthworks and the faint traces of what was once a Romano-British settlement on the Yorkshire moors near Harrogate. The site sits quietly in the landscape, unremarkable at first glance, but genuinely fascinating if you're into archaeology or local history.

What you're looking at are the buried remains of a Roman fort and associated settlement, though the school itself came much later. The earthworks are visible enough to walk around, and there's something rather compelling about standing where Roman soldiers once stood, even if the dramatic stone structures exist only in your imagination now.
