Blackdown Hills Puppy and Dog Activity Park

Your dog's going to lose its mind the moment you walk through the gate at Blackdown Hills. This isn't a basic field with a few tennis balls - it's a proper activity park where dogs actually get to do things rather than just exist alongside other dogs for an hour.

The setup is straightforward: open space, agility equipment, and enough room for dogs to burn off the kind of energy that would otherwise wreck your house back home. It's the sort of place where a labrador that's been cooped up all week can finally run without worrying about the lead, and nervous dogs can ease into socialising without getting mobbed.

It works brilliantly alongside a glamping holiday. Hartridge Springs is only four and a half miles away - close enough that you're not driving thirty minutes just to exercise the dog. You could do the activity park mid-morning, head back for lunch, and still have the afternoon for proper walks around the Blackdown Hills themselves. The whole area is cracking for dogs, to be honest.

Timing-wise, you'll want a couple of hours if you've got an active dog. Bring water, bring treats, bring a towel if it's been raining. Go early if you can - weekday mornings are quieter. The park fills up on weekends when everyone's got the same idea.

Not for you if your dog's antisocial or if you're the sort who expects a full facilities setup with cafes. What it is, though, is a genuine space where dogs come first. Worth the drive from Honiton if you're staying nearby.
