Bideford Dog Field

The Dog Field sits on the edge of Bideford itself - a proper local spot rather than a tourist attraction, really. It's an open grassy area where residents take their dogs to run about off the lead, and that's honestly all it is. No fancy facilities, no café, just space and grass and the sound of happy dogs charging around.

If you're staying at one of the nearby glamping spots like Owl Valley or Broad Park, and you've got a dog with you, it's exactly what you need. Twenty minutes maximum to let them burn off some energy before heading into town for fish and chips. Without a dog, there's not much reason to make the trip - you won't find views or heritage or anything to photograph.

Pet owners will appreciate how accessible it is from the holiday parks. Broad Park is barely over a mile away. Take the dog, give it a run, then crack on with exploring Bideford's actual attractions - the quay is charming and the high street has proper character. The field is functional rather than special, but sometimes that's exactly what a holiday needs.
