The walk up Berry Law takes about twenty minutes from Dunfermline and rewards you with proper views across Fife - on a clear day you're looking out towards the Forth and beyond. It's not a dramatic peak; more of a sturdy hill with a radio mast on top, but that's rather the point. The path is straightforward enough, well-trodden and accessible for most fitness levels, though it can get muddy after rain.

Walkers will get the most from this one. It's not a destination in itself - you won't spend hours up there - but it's the sort of place that makes sense as part of a bigger day out around Dunfermline. The views are genuine enough to justify the climb, and you're not fighting crowds. Families with reasonably mobile kids would be fine; anything under eight might find the ascent a bit much.

If you're staying at one of the local parks - Green Oak Nature Retreat is closest at under five miles, or West Fife Pods if you fancy something with a bit more style - this works well as a morning leg-stretch before heading elsewhere. Meadow View is another solid option in the area. There's no admission to pay, no facilities at the summit, so come prepared with a flask if you want to sit and soak it in. Best visited when the weather's cooperating; a grey Fife afternoon makes the whole thing feel rather pointless. Come for the walk and the modest accomplishment, not for something Instagram-worthy.
