About Beacon Cove
You won't find shops or cafes here - bring your own supplies. That's rather the point. Dog walkers absolutely love it, and families with older kids will get a kick out of scrambling over the rocks at either end. Younger children might find the walk back up a bit much, to be honest.
The main attraction is the sheer peace of the place. No amusement arcades, no ranks of deckchairs for hire. Just sand, sea, and the sound of gulls. From Trevarrian it's a short drive, and if you're staying at Trewan Hall or Padstow Holiday Village, it's absolutely worth the detour for an afternoon. Go earlier in the day to beat the crowds - though we're talking modest numbers compared to the main beaches round here.
Allow a couple of hours minimum, longer if you're the type who likes to sit and read a book while the waves do their thing. Check the tides before you head down - the beach shrinks considerably at high water.
