Baulk Head to Mullion

The walk from Baulk Head to Mullion is a proper coastal ramble that takes you along some of Cornwall's most dramatic cliff edge. You're looking at roughly two hours there and back, following the South West Coast Path as it winds between these two points. The cliffs themselves rise sheer from the water - nothing fancy, just raw granite geology doing what it's done for millennia.

What makes it worthwhile is the variety. Start at Baulk Head and you get immediate views out across Mounts Bay. The path dips and rises, passes through scrubland, and the further you walk, the more you feel like you've left the tourist trail behind. By the time you reach Mullion, you've earned a breather and a look back at where you've come from.

Walkers will get the most from this one - it's not a casual stroll, but neither is it a leg-breaker. Families with confident kids aged eight upwards should be fine, though proper footwear matters. The path can be muddy after rain and in places it's narrow enough that you need to watch your footing near the edge.

It's free, obviously - it's the coast path. Allow a good three hours if you're not rushing and want to stop for photos. Spring and early autumn are your best bets for weather.
