History types will dig it - there's real industrial archaeology here without the overdone interpretation boards. Based near Derecroft, it's a solid addition to a woodland walking trip through the region. The woodland's free and accessible, though you'll want proper boots given the terrain. Spring's probably nicest - less muddy than winter, not as bracken-choked as late summer.
