Back Law rises sharply from the Fife landscape just outside Dunfermline, a modest but satisfying hill walk that rewards you with proper views across the region. It's not a lung-busting slog - the summit sits at just over 300 metres - but the climb is steep enough to feel earned when you reach the top.

The walk itself takes around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace and how often you stop to catch your breath on the way up. On a clear day, you'll see right across Fife and beyond, which makes it a decent shout for anyone based at the nearby holiday parks. Green Oak Nature Retreat, West Fife Pods, and Meadow View Glamping are all within striking distance, so it works well as a morning or late-afternoon activity without eating into precious holiday time.

It's best tackled by anyone with a reasonable level of fitness - families with younger kids might find the steepness a bit much, but teenagers who can handle a proper hill walk will get something from it. The footpath is straightforward enough, though it can get muddy after rain. Spring and autumn are your best bet for avoiding the worst of the Scottish weather, though even then you'll want decent boots.

This isn't a destination that'll occupy you for hours. You'll be down in two and a half to three hours total, including a rest at the top. But as a solid local walk that delivers views without faffing about, it does the job well.
