Argos Hill Windmill

Built in the 18th century, this smock mill once ground corn for the local community - now it's a quiet monument to the area's agricultural past, accessible to anyone willing to walk out to it.

What you're looking at is a proper working windmill, or at least it was. The structure itself is the draw rather than any visitor centre or museum setup - this isn't a polished heritage site, it's the real thing, weathered and honest. History enthusiasts will appreciate standing where millers actually stood, though be prepared for a fairly humble exterior.

The walk up from Heathfield takes you through genuine Sussex countryside, which frankly might be as rewarding as the mill itself depending on what you're after.
