All Saints Church, Greetwell

The church sits quietly on the edge of Greetwell, just outside Lincoln, and it's the sort of place you'd miss entirely if you weren't looking for it. All Saints has that particular appeal of smaller English parish churches - no crowds, no gift shop, just good medieval bones and the kind of peaceful atmosphere you actually can't manufacture.

The building itself dates back centuries, with a tower that rises above the surrounding countryside in a way that makes you understand why these things were built where they were. This isn't a destination in itself, but it works brilliantly as a stop-off during a walk from Seven Acre Farm Campsite or Shortferry Caravan Park, both within a few miles. The surrounding countryside around Greetwell is flat and agricultural - perfectly pleasant for a wander between pitches.

Family groups will find it low-key and educational without being preachy. The real appeal is the sense of stepping into something genuinely old and unremarkable - which, paradoxically, is exactly what makes it worth the detour.
