Stone walls, a tower that's been there since the 14th century, and the kind of interior light that makes you actually want to sit down for five minutes rather than just tick it off the list.

What you get is a working parish church, so expect pews, stained glass, and that particular smell of old wood and stone that hangs around anywhere this age. The architecture tells the story if you bother to look - Perpendicular Gothic details, various bits added and altered over six hundred years of people getting married, buried, and baptised here. History types will get more out of it than families with restless kids, though the tower does impress if you manage the climb.

If you're staying at one of the caravan parks nearby - Knight's Village is right next to the castle - it's an easy leg-stretch between whatever else you're doing in Warwick. Not a detour; just a sensible pause.
