All Hallows sits on a quiet street in Beverley, a church that's been doing its thing since medieval times. Walk in and you're met with that particular smell - old stone, centuries of candle wax, something indefinably Anglican. The interior is genuinely impressive: intricate wooden screens, a proper chancel, the kind of detail that makes you realise how much craftsmanship went into these buildings when nobody was rushing.

It's worth visiting if you're the type who enjoys architecture and local history. Families with younger kids might struggle unless they're genuinely keen on churches - there's no interactive stuff, no gift shop theatrics. But if you're walking around Beverley anyway, which you should be, this takes maybe thirty minutes and costs nothing.

The church works brilliantly as part of a wider Beverley afternoon. Head here, wander the town's Georgian streets, grab lunch somewhere decent. If you're staying at Cherry Burton Leisure Park or William's Den, both are close enough that you could build this into a day out without it feeling forced. The park stays aren't exactly luxury affairs - Cherry Burton's a solid 3.6-star option, William's Den punches above its weight at 5.0 - but either gives you a decent base for exploring the wider area.
