Air Thrill

You'll find Air Thrill tucked away near Clackmannan in Clackmannanshire - it's an indoor skydiving centre where you can experience the rush of freefall without actually jumping out of a plane. The wind tunnel simulation is genuinely impressive, and they've got the physics sorted so you're properly floating rather than just getting buffeted about.

It's brilliant for adrenaline seekers and anyone who's ever wondered what skydiving feels like but hasn't got the nerve (or the budget) for the real thing. Kids from about eight upwards seem to have a genuine laugh with it, though teenagers are probably going to get more out of the experience. The staff are patient with nervous first-timers, which helps.

You'll want to allow a good hour including briefing and kit-up. Sessions run Thursday to Friday from 4pm, weekends from 10am till 6pm. Check the website for pricing and whether you need to book in advance - it fills up, especially at weekends.

It won't take up your whole afternoon, so you've got time to explore the broader Clackmannanshire area afterwards.
