Adventure Island Minigolf

A windswept stretch of mini-golf tucked near Great Yarmouth that does what it says on the tin - nothing more, nothing less. Adventure Island is the kind of place you take the kids for an hour when the Norfolk weather turns, not a destination in itself. The course is fairly standard stuff: eighteen holes with a handful of modest obstacles, painted castle bits, some water features that mostly just catch balls you've hit badly. The best holes are genuinely fun rather than gimmicky, and there's enough going on to keep eight-year-olds entertained without driving you up the wall. Fair play to them for not overdoing the theming like some places do. It's not free - expect to pay a few quid per round - but it's cheap enough that you won't feel properly robbed if the kids lose interest after nine holes. The whole thing takes about forty minutes if you're not mucking about. Realistically, this works as a wet-weather backup during a longer caravan holiday at Azure Seas or another park in the area. Bring it alongside beach time and arcade visits rather than expecting it to be the highlight. The location near Great Yarmouth means it's easy enough to slot into an itinerary, but the setting itself is dead ordinary - no views, no atmosphere. Worth a go if you've got restless kids and a spare afternoon, but book your stay around the proper attractions, not around this.
