Croft Farm Water Park is close enough for a family base if water activities matter more to you. Allow fifteen minutes maximum to look around unless you're genuinely into milling mechanisms. It's free to view from the outside, though details on interior access are thin on the ground. Best visited alongside the abbey itself, which will take up the bulk of your morning.
