The concrete façade of 909 Art hits you straight away - bold, unapologetic, and nothing like the Georgian terraces you'd expect around Kettering. It's a contemporary art space housed in what feels like proper industrial architecture, the kind of place that makes you stop and look twice.

Inside, the gallery rotates work from emerging and established artists, so what's on the walls changes regularly. It's not enormous - you can cover it in an hour, maybe ninety minutes if you linger - but the work tends to be genuinely engaging rather than the sort of thing that leaves you baffled. The space itself is part of the appeal; high ceilings and clean lines give artists room to breathe, and there's something refreshing about a venue that doesn't try too hard to be Instagram-friendly.

You'll get the most from it if you're into contemporary work, though it's worth a look even if art galleries aren't your usual thing. Families with teenagers might find it interesting; younger kids could get restless quickly. Check their website or ring ahead before visiting, as opening hours aren't entirely predictable.

It sits well within a caravan holiday in the area. Northfield Farm is barely a mile and a half away, and Lakeview Caravan Park is close enough for an evening visit. Kettering itself has decent pubs and cafes within walking distance if you fancy making an evening of it. Not a day-trip draw on its own, but absolutely worth factoring in during a longer stay.
